students, but the city's other schools and

sports associations. The gym has significantly

deteriorated over time for this reason.

Overall, to the mid-2000s the gym slowly

become unusable. The physical education classes

and sports activities were held in completely

unhealthy and dangerous environment, until taking

advantage of the financial possibilities, our gym has been completely renovated.

Long years of tenacious struggle of teamwork and perseverance bore fruit. The renovation of the roof structure was completed, the internal doors were replaced, the interior walls were repaired and painted, new wall coverings were put and a rubber mat was put on the floor.

Showers and toilettes were installed in the changing rooms. It was a lot of work and sacrifice which was has been created in a considerable collaboration for a useful purpose.

We want to share our joy, and to express our gratitude on this day. Two buildings were completely renovated. The ceremony of handover will be held today.

The other building, which we inaugurate is the Gymnasium. The beautiful building which was built in 1896, in the course of time, become unusable. Several attempts have been made to improve the building. My predecessor director Simon Janos with the help of Kiraly Andras, a former student, tried to repair the building through a Hungarian project. Repairs were not done, but the but the Utilitas design company from Cluj has prepared the renovation plan of the Gymnasium, which I submitted to the National Investment Fund from Bucharest. This took place in 2005, after that Ferencz Sandor and Kerekes Ferenc physical education teachers, handed over the documents to the former Minister Laszlo Borbely. Lots of intercession started the tendering procedure. The local government has undertaken and agreed to the application of the deductible. Thank for the help of Racz Levente, Krecsák Albert, Simon Janos clerks and Krisztián Kovács former deputy mayor in this matter. Lots of additional documentation was needed to further actions. Dezsõ Éva, Kirizsán Imola, majd Bogdanovits-Nagy Péter planning engineers helped to sent every document to Bucharest. With the effective help of Krisztián Kovács and Albert Krecsák deputy mayors and Director Mr.Lukacs Vilmos we won the application the end of 2008. The Cartel Bau construction company from Cluj won the projecting and the work was performed by the subcontractor company MARC - Construct from Aiud.

Thanks to Martin Florea and his staff for their well-done job and the work carried out on time.

I started by saying that it was a teamwork. In the name of the current and future college students and teachers and with gratitude to God I thank everyone that we have

two beautiful buildings.

I am confident that by continuing the teamwork the application

submitted under the Regional Operational Program will be successful.

Right to say that the gym, is not an ordinary college sports hall, but a real gym. In 1896, during the Millennium celebrations, the college gymnasium was built by using the Hungarian treasury money. The beautiful imposing building with its large Gothic windows is one of the oldest sports purpose-built buildings from Transylvania and Aiud.

The gymnasium was equipped with the highest quality exercise equipment and gym agents by Graner Paul reputable gym equipment maker from Budapest with a cost of Ft. 1,238. The gymnasium was used only from 1898, still more than a century had an important and decisive role in the students' physical education, forming a healthy body shape, the fighting ability and the competitive mindset.
